The head on down to the stunning Abbey Gardens (look out for the extremely friendly ginger tom cat that likes to pop out unexpectedly!) and enjoy lunch in the River Cottage Kitchen in the gardens. Then onto the beautiful Winchester Cathedral. Take the guided tour, visit the crypt to see Antony Gormley’s mysterious yet peaceful Sculpture II statue, discover Jane Austen’s grave and wander around the delightful grounds. Finish off your visit to the cathedral with a glorious Hampshire cream tea in the cafe.
After a freshen up back at your accommodation it’s off for dinner in the brand new Ivy Brasserie on the High Street.

Pack and depart to your next destination or better still extend your stay as there is so much to do in Winchester you need to spend at least 7 days here...if not three weeks!
