Autumn in Winchester
Top 5 things to do during Autumn
The summer maybe over but that doesn't stop us enjoying all Winchester has to offer.
Get your walking boots on! The ground maybe starting to get heavier after some much needed rain but that’s no excuse not to get out on the footpaths for a fabulous stomp in the countryside. Check out our blog on pub walks for more inspiration.
2. Go out for a picnic. There are some beautiful parks in Winchester so don’t let the cooler temperatures put you off a spot of al fresco dining. Pack a flask of hot tea or coffee and head off to one of the many open spaces with family or friends
3. Take yourself off on a self guided tour. The Keats trail is especially lovely at this time of year. This trail, along with other trails, can be downloaded from Visit Winchester
4. Find your favourite garden. The beauty of gardens is that they have something different to offer in each of the 4 seasons. Autumn with its orange and golden colours against the often still vivid blue sky makes this season particularly magical. Why not incorporate "things to do" no. 2. take a picnic and make a full day of it.
5. Stop, relax and indulge in a delightful afternoon tea in one of the many cafes in Winchester. Go with friends or family or just on your own for a spot of people watching. Whichever way you do it there is nothing better at this time of year than tea and cake.
