The legend of the Bishop and the Golden Tankard says that the owner of the tankard is guaranteed a lifetime of a continuous flow of gold but the tankard's whereabouts is shrouded in mystery. It's said to have once been hidden in the vaults of Winchester Cathedral...but where is it now?
In 1535 King Henry VIII planned to seize the tankard and claim the riches for himself but on opening the dusty wooden box that housed the tankard the King and all the spectators watching saw the tankard was gone!
Who stole the tankard? Did they have a grudge on the King or was there a deeper plot at play? It's up to you to solve the clues, crack the mystery and reveal the whereabouts of the prized tankard.
This great little mystery is a perfect way to see the city as it takes in many of the historical landmarks including four historical pubs!
