What's New at Marwell Zoo 2018

Tucana has been born!

The first of 2 zebra fouls has been named by Marwell Zoo, Tucana. First time Mother, Dorotka, gave birth to Tucana in 2018 and they are both doing very well. Marwell Zoo's hoofstock team have a 'space theme' for all animals born on their section this year and Tucana is a star constellation. From the video you can see how boundy and energetic she is with a great zest for life.

These Grevy Zebras are currently endangered meaning Marwell Zoo's conservation work is incredibly important to this species.

Marwell Zoo has a fantastic conservation team working all over the world to protect endangered species. Closer to home, they have been working for 25 years to repopulate sand lizards to their natural environment in the heathlands of Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey.
