Winchester and the surrounding areas are home to some fantastic authors, poets and artists. Jane Austen's house is open to view and could be a very educational trip for the children. The Winchester Book Shop is a hidden gem on George Street that, without looking, could be easily missed. The little alley leading to the hidden bookshop invites you to an enchanted world of fact and fiction. Like stepping into a time portal, it's easy to get so submerged that when you drag yourself away, it's dark outside!
